Covid update -July 2020

The past few months have been very challenging for us all. We have had to close the day centre and have not been allowing respite users to come and stay and I know this decision has affected many people who use our services. Our ultimate aim is to keep our staff and residents safe and I am pleased to say that we have had no cases of covid-19, which is a credit to our dedicated staff team.

IPad – Our iPad has been a great aid in connecting our residents and family members, which has been a real boost for our residents during this period of lockdown. Please continue to let our staff team know when you would like to FaceTime and we can ensure you residents are supported to connect.

Visitors – As many of you are now aware, we are happy for you to come and visit your loved ones. However, Visits will have to take place outside ensuring that a social distance of 2m is adhered to at all times. I know that this is hard as you want to embrace your loved one, but this is one step closer towards this.

We ask that families do not all come together and contact Yercombe before they are planning to come. We can then ensure residents are ready and that the visit does not clash with another resident’s family.
