Yercombe News May 2021

The past year has been a really tough time for us all and at Yercombe Lodge we are trying to get back to some normality. Our main aim throughout this whole pandemic was to keep all our residents and staff safe and supported.

Our staff team have been so dedicated throughout this pandemic. They have all tried to keep everyone’s spirits up and come to work with a smile on their faces. We cannot thank them enough!

We have also received fantastic support from family and friends of Yercombe Lodge and it has been lovely that we have been able to allow more of you to visit. Our greenhouse ‘pod’ has been a great success, especially when the weather has been cold and wet. We are currently allowing pre-booked visits for family and friends either in the ‘pod’ or socially distanced on our patio. Indoor visits can be arranged for 2 nominated visitors, who would be required to have a rapid test and wear the required PPE.

Our local GP practices and community hospital have been amazing at offering the covid-19 vaccine to those groups who are eligible. Yercombe Lodge was lucky to be offered the first vaccine dose before Christmas. Almost 100% of our staff and residents have now received both doses of their vaccine with a few remaining staff hoping to receive their second dose in the next few weeks.
